It’s Official…

We want to say thank you again to the 227 people who voted for us in the Creme of Nature 2012 Community Action Awards. It was a sterling effort by some great supporters and friends yesterday that meant we got an amazing 72 votes in less than 12 hours. The second prize award of £5,000 is going to make a huge difference to the launderette and everyone who uses it. We are now going to replace the large washing machine that has been broken for more than a year, and we hope to use this award as a step towards other funding. We will keep everyone informed about the timetable for the work. You can see our bid and the bids of all the other wonderful finalists here.

Less Than a Week to Make a Difference!

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The Community Action Award really would make a huge difference to everyone who uses the launderette – if all of our website visitors and facebook friends voted  then got at least one of their friends to vote we’d be in with a chance of winning. Today we are still in 4th place with less than one week to go. We’ve got just 111 votes to date, 77 behind 2nd place and over 400 behind 1st place.  It’s just the cost of a normal text. It is wonderful to have been chosen, but to win we need to top the voting table – which is where you come in! Voting Starts Tomorrow…

Voting in the Creme of Nature Community Awards 2012 starts tomorrow, 1st May. We’ll post details of how you can vote for us online by 11am tomorrow morning – if we win we’ll finally be able start replacing the machines!

The launderette has been selected as one of five finalists in the Creme of Nature 2012 Community Action Award. If we win or are 1st runner-up we will be able to start to replace some of the machines in the launderette. We will need your help as the award is voted on by the public, and voting starts on May 1st. As soon as we receive the voting details we will be posting them here and on our facebook page – we hope you’ll vote for us!
