What a good week!

We started this web page on 14th July to celebrate that the launderette was secure after finally reaching agreement on our rent and a new lease with Tower Hamlets council. We wanted to provide information on local events and post pages about the Boundary Estate and our community, not just launderette information. Little did we think that in one month over 1,200 people would visit the site. Thank you!
Don’t forget, we’d love to hear from you – let us know what you think of the site, tell us if there’s something we should feature and, naturally, you can get in touch with us about anything to do with the launderette.
We searched long and hard to find local events for this weekend, but it seems it’s going to be a quiet one! Here are some things we’ve found…
On Sunday 15th August at Shoreditch Church there’s a Fete from 1 till 4pm. There’ll be music, games, bric-a-brac a jumble sale and a cream tea tent – no fete should be without one!
On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th August at 11am the Museum of London is holding ‘Victorian Playtime’, where you can get the chance to play with 150 year-old toys.
Also at the Museum of London on Sunday 15th August at Midday and 2pm as part of World City Music Afternoons, Qawaali singer Ameer Khan, will be performing. Ameer Khan comes from one of the oldest and most revered musical families in Pakistan. http://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/English/
Peregrine Falcons are nesting in central London, and the RSPB has organised a viewing site at Tate Modern, with staff and volunteers and four telescopes, by the Millennium Bridge on the South Bank opposite the Tate Modern tower. The site is open daily from Midday until 7pm. http://www.rspb.org.uk/datewithnature/sites/tate/index.asp
From 7pm on Friday 13th then at lunctime to early evening Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th is the Canary Wharf Jazz Festival. With acts such as Ruby Turner, Alex Wilson, Natalie Williams and Pee Wee Ellis, it promises to be a good weekend for jazz fans – and it’s free!
