Beautiful Launderettes!

Posted by Boundary Community Launderette on 16/08/2010

We are still in need of books for our bookstall, so if you’ve got any books you no longer want please drop them in to us. Thanks to everyone who has donated books to and bought books from the bookstall, we’ve been able to donate every penny raised to good causes including £40 to the DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal.

There was a wonderful programme on Radio 4 last Friday that people have told us about, all about launderettes. It’s called Sud-U-Like and is on ‘listen again’ until Friday. We recommend it – our only gripe is that they spell launderette the American way in their information! Here’s the link:

We hope you’ve enjoyed the pages we’ve posted on local history and information, we’re taking a bit of a breather for the next week or two so there won’t be any new pages posted. We will still be blogging a couple of times a week though, and we’ll be providing information on free local weekend events on our Friday blogs.

Club Row Squirrel

We know a lot of residents were disturbed on Sunday afternoon and early evening by the loud music in the playground, and that local youngsters who wanted to use the playground couldn’t. If you’re ever concerned by anything like this then you can contact Environmental Health noise nuisance officers 020 7364 5007. The playground was restored by residents fundraising, and residents choosing the design. It is only intended for children and young people living in the Boundary area, and their friends, to use.
