First Day of September – Autumn’s Closing In!
Posted by Boundary Community Launderette on 01/09/2010
Where does the time go? In just over two weeks we’ll be marking the 18th ‘birthday’ of the launderette – the business that was set up and run by residents for residents and still operates under the same principles. Few thought we’d last two years, let alone eighteen! We’ll be having a little celebration so keep watching for news of that. It also seems barely five minutes since we were looking forward to the summer, and it’s already on it’s way out. We hope you’ve had a good summer and are enjoying our new blog & web pages too – we’ll be hoping to brighten the longer evenings with news and information about the Boundary Estate and our neighbourhood, as well as keeping you up-to-date about the launderette.
We’re still no nearer finding out what the tree is that’s planted in the garden between Sandford and Clifton Houses. If you have any ideas what it is please let us know.
The launderette has, over the past 18 years, become a place where people come for information, local news and to meet up and chat. We’d love this blog & web page to be an extension of that, so feel free to get involved. Some of our blog posts and pages can be commented on and you can ‘rate’ all of the pages – lots already have – from 1 to 5 stars, depending on what you think of them. You can also get in touch with us via the ‘About You’ page, and if you’re involved in a community group you can publicise that via our ‘Community Noticeboard’ page.
We’ll be back on Friday with news on local events this weekend, and we’ll posting some important information on the launderette next Monday. Don’t forget to also keep an eye out for news on how we’re marking the launderette’s 18th birthday! Be sure of getting the news and information as soon as it’s posted by subscribing to our blog – just click on ‘Subscribe’
