Posted by Boundary Community Launderette on 08/03/2011

Today is the centenary of International Women’s Day. This photograph is of Mrs Flora Drummond being arrested in Hyde Park in1914. ‘General’ Flora Drummond joined the suffragette campaign in Manchester in 1905 and moved to London as a paid organiser. She was imprisoned at least four times, once serving three weeks for chaining herself to the railings of 10 Downing Street.
