What’s Going On…

Posted by Boundary Community Launderette on 27/07/2012

Once again we want to say thank you to each one of our lovely customers for being so understanding when we had our pump breakdown during the first half of this week. Needless to say the launderette has been incredibly busy since Wednesday afternoon when the water flow resumed, and our marvellous manager Maire and our superb team have been making sure that everyone gets their washing done. It might take the rest of the weekend before we get back to normal, so if you’re doing your own laundry or having a service wash please bear this mind. Now on with the real reason your reading our blog…

It seems that a certain sports event kicking off over in Stratford so it seems we’ve been lucky to find one great free event this weekend:

On Saturday 28th July at King Edward Memorial Park  from midday until 4pm is the I Love KEMP Day. There will be an afternoon full of great free entertainment for the whole family from bouncy castles and balloon animals to music, local history and gardening experts –  and Shadwell’s very own Elvis Presley. Needless to say there’ll be loads of food, stalls and more besides! For more details visit the KEMP facebook page

Although we’ve been unable to find anything else free going on locally this weekend there are loads of places to visit locally – from lovely parks to cutting-edge galleries. We’ve got links to many on the right of our webpage.

Right on our doorstep – from Arnold Circus to Rich Mix and Shoreditch Church to Haggerston Park, Ping! have put ping-pong tables all over the neighbourhood for everyone to enjoy, free of charge. Check out all the locations on the Ping! website.

That great sporting event we mentioned earlier – the one with the multi-coloured rings and thousands of competitors – can be followed on big screens at the Victoria Park BT London Live event from today until 12th August. This is a free festival with music, attractions and events. Entry is free but you may need to get tickets, especially at weekends. Visit the London Live website for more details.
