Well Worth the Wait…

Posted by Boundary Community Launderette on 10/08/2012

There’s no free things to do blog this week, we hope you understand why. Normal service next week –

After months of talk, we’ve walked the walk! The wonderful new, extra-large machine has finally been installed and we’ve taken the opportunity to do a little bit of a make-over too. The new machine can wash extra-large loads, duvets and large blankets easily and has a high-spin speed to reduce drying costs.

The dryers have been realigned and we’ve had some great new shelving made to store service washes so, unless we’re extremely busy, the machine tops will be clearer than we’ve become used to.

Of course none of this would have been possible without the votes cast by our wonderful customers and friends, and the second-prize cheque of £5,000 from the Creme of Nature Community Action Award. Thanks again!

The voluntary directors are now applying for funding to replace the rest of the machines, starting with the large machines, and we’ll keep you posted. It’s a long, drawn-out process and may take some time…
